The Dwayam : Ten Exponent artists from different parts of India will showcase a cross-section of India’s rich cultural heritage in a spectacular celebration of music and dance. An artistic portrayal of India’s eclectic culture and heritage under the auspices of the Soorya Festival themed “Dwayam” is an infusion of traditional and Classical dance and music performances.
This year’s Soorya Festival is an artistic portrayal of the great Vaikom Mohammad Basheer , the great Novelist from India. Vaikom Mohammed Basheer’s greatest phrase of One plus One is a Big One (1+1 = 1) , which expresses the power of Two - DWAYAM. The festival attempts to capture this very essence of Incredible power of love and togetherness with union of god.
The Multimedia mega stage show promises a spectacular feast of arts and culture through the fusion of three forms of Classical music in the world – Carnatic, Traditional , while also showcasing a unique blend of Traditional and Classical dances. Classical numbers like Bharathanatyam & kathak will intersperse to invoke a delightful sensory feast.
The Artistes
Dwayam features artistes such as Sri.Karunamoorthy & Sri. Sreekumar in thavil, Sri. Mambalam Siva & Sri. Maruthorvattom Babu in Nadaswaram and Sri. Trivandrum Krishnakumar & ‘Chandramukhi’ fame Binni Krishnakumar in vocals. Dancers include famous Bangalore sisters Veena Nair & Dhanya Nair in Bharathanatyam , Savitha Adhikari & Sandhya Pachoniya in Kathak .
