Here are 5 new announcements and 3 old announcements.
Announcement 1: Personal Accident Insurance for the Blind
AXA Affin will be giving a briefing on their personal accident insurance scheme for the blind on Saturday, 3rd July, 10.00 am at the MAB Hall. Blind persons can register for the insurance policy on the same day. Refreshment will be served. Those wishing to attend, please give your names to Pn. Jamilah at tel. 03 2272 2677 extension 173.
Announcement 2: Paralympics Carnival DBKL – KL Open 2010
DBKL in collaboration with Majlis Paralimpik Malaysia will be holding this carnival from 23 – 25 July in Bandar Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur. Sports for the blind will include goalball, ten pin bowling, athletic, swimming and tandem riding. Please register with En. Fairuz at tel. 03 2272 2677 extension 136.
Announcement 3: Harmonica Workshop
MAB in collaboration with Malaysian Council for Rehabilitation will be holding a harmonica workshop for the disabled on Friday, 30th July, 3.00 pm at the MAB Hall. Blind persons interested to attend, please contact Mr. Godfrey Ooi at tel. 03 2272 2677 extension 127.
Announcement 4: Line Dancing
Some of you will remember that line dancing was introduced some years ago. The program is on again conducted by Ms. Jenny and will begin on Thursday, 1st July, 8.00 pm at the MAB Hall. Those interested, please contact Ms. Anna Loo at tel. 013 360 6088.
Announcement 5: Braille Book Recommendation by Wan Zainon
The book is Independent Living Without Sight and Hearing by Richard Kinney. The author is deaf blind and he offers many good tips on how to live as a deaf blind person especially on the methods of communication for the deaf blind. Announcement 6: Festive Hampers for the Blind
The application forms are now available at the MAB reception counter. Please contact Mr. Subra or Cik Nurhidayah at tel. 03 2272 2677. Closing date is 15th July.
Announcement 7: Brickfields Carnival for the Disabled by Rukun Tetangga in Conjunction with Merdeka Day
This will be on Sunday, 1st August from 9.00 am – 3.00 pm at Kompleks MAB. It will include an exhibition by government agencies such as the police, free health examination, color contest and fashion show for children, chess and futsal competition and a merdeka quiz. Announcement 8: Basket Weaving Competition for the Blind
This will be held on Tuesday, 5th October from 9.00 am – 5.00 pm at Taman Harapan. The objective is to select participants for the national level basket weaving competition which is one of the events of the 4th National Abilympics. The national basket weaving champion will be selected to take part in the International Abilympics in South Korea next year.
