International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment (ICEVI) is a global association of individuals and organizations that promotes equal access to appropriate education for all children and youth with visual impairment so that they may achieve their full potential.
The Malaysian Association for the Blind is an organization member of ICEVI. We have the proud distinction of having hosted the 12th ICEVI World Conference in 2006 at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) successfully with the largest number of delegates of about 800 from all over the world. This conference can boast that it had the largest number of delegates from Asia to date.
Senator Prof. Datuk Dr. Ismail Md Salleh was elected the Chairperson of the East Asia Region and Dato’ S. Kulasegaran was elected the Representative of Malaysia for the current term, 2006 – 2010. They are actively promoting Education for All with Visual Impairment (EFA-VI) in Malaysia and the East Asia Region.
